Good Counsel scooped the prestegious title of 'Dublin junior hurling club of the year' at the recent Friends Of Dublin Hurling Annual Awards! The club had been short listed along with Parnells from the many clubs who participate at this level and it was with great pleasure that chairperson Aoife Maguire was on hand to accept the award. Some past playing Good Counsel members were also honoured for their part in Dublins capturing of the 1965 All Ireland Minor hurling title and also the 1967 Under 21 hurling team who did magnificently to reach the All Ireland Final.
In the elegant surroundings of the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel a beautiful plaque and a cheque for €1,000 was awarded to the delight of the many Counsel members in attendance. After the huge work being put in at all levels throughout the club, this is just reward for all those mentors and players who have given so much. Good Counsel would like to take this opportunity to thank the Friends Of Dublin Hurling for the huge work that they put in while promoting the game of hurling in Dublin.
